For the fourth year running, the Alderson Print Group have added an accreditation to their portfolio, with the Web Division gaining ISO14001 in December 2008. This accreditation will be rolled out to the rest of the group throughout 2009. Alistair Tandy (the Group Standards Manager), would like to express his gratitude to all the Web machine minders, to the Group Facilities Manager Tony Field and his team, and also to the web warehouse staff, for the excellent way they have responded to the requirements of the Standard. Gaining ISO14001, has been a significant factor in continuing to put Aldersons at the cutting edge. It has also made a really good impact on the Council’s Environmental Health Officer, who wrote recently "overall standards of environmental compliance are excellent, following achievement of ISO14001 – high confidence in management."

Add to this, that shortly before Christmas 2008, Alistair Tandy completed the IRCA ISO9001 5-day Lead Auditor course – which means he has gained an even deeper insight into the ISO9001 Standard, and is now well placed, to ensure that Alderson Print Group stay firmly at the top of their industry!

Adding ISO14001 will be a hard act to follow, especially as it is a tough standard to achieve. Nevertheless, there is scope - the ISO9001 standard had an updated version released in November 2008. The Group Standards Manager will be looking to update the current 9001 Certifications to the new (2008) Standard as soon as practicable.
